GUADALAJARA, Mexico -- Lexi Thompson won the Lorena Ochoa Invitational on Sunday for her second victory in her last four starts, birdieing the final hole to beat Stacy Lewis by a stroke. Adriano Jersey . The 18-year-old Thompson made a 5-foot putt on the par-5 18th, then won when Lewis missed her 5-foot try. "First off, I had like a 50- to 60-footer for the first one, which was interesting getting up there within a few feet," Thompson said. "You know on the second putt, thats what it all came down to thinking I can make it and went up to it confidently. Just knock it in." The third-ranked Lewis, a three-time winner this year, had a 68. "I knew I had to make it," Lewis said about her birdie try on the final hole. "I had a good line on it, just with these greens, those downhill putts are the hardest ones to make. I hit a good putt. I hit it where I wanted to. It just didnt go in." Thompson closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 16-under 272 at Guadalajara Country Club. She won the 2011 LPGA Navistar Classic at 16, and took the LPGA Malaysia last month for her second tour title. So Yeon Ryu was third at 13 under after a 69. Top-ranked Inbee Park finished fourth at 11 under to wrap up the points-based player of the year award with one event left. She is the first South Korean player to win the award. "I said all year, there should have been at least two or three girls that already won the award, but nobody really did it," said Park, who shot 69. "Its just really hard to believe and Im just very lucky I won." Lewis birdied Nos. 12-14 to take a one-stroke lead, but dropped into a tie with Thompson with a bogey on the par-3 17th. "Stacy is an amazing player," Thompson said. "I knew she could make a run at me any time during that round. When she made the two-shot swing on me, I think on No. 12, it brought it back to all squared. I knew I had to make birdies on top of her because she gets on a roll and she doesnt stop. DETROIT -- A picture of Jim Leylands face stared out from the video board at an empty Comerica Park, next to that familiar Olde English "D" and a message that said simply: "Thank You Jim. Scott Tolzien Colts Jersey ." After eight seasons managing the Tigers, including three division titles and two American League pennants, Leyland stepped down Monday. His voice cracking at times, his hands wiping away tears at others, he announced his departure two days after Detroit was eliminated by Boston in the AL championship series. "Its been a thrill," the 68-year-old Leyland said during a news conference at the ballpark. "I came here to change talent to team, and I think with the help of this entire organization, I think weve done that. Weve won quite a bit. Im very grateful to have been a small part of that." Leyland made his managerial debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1986, and from Barry Bonds to Miguel Cabrera, hes managed some of the sports biggest stars and been involved in some of baseballs most memorable games over the past quarter-century. In 1992, his Pirates lost Game 7 of the NLCS when Atlanta rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning. Five years later, Leyland won his only World Series title as manager when his Florida Marlins beat Cleveland in an 11-inning thriller in Game 7. Hes experienced some of the highest highs the game has to offer, but also endured difficult rebuilding periods in both Pittsburgh and Florida. After one season with the Colorado Rockies, Leyland didnt manage at all from 2000-05 before Detroit hired him. Leyland led the Tigers to the World Series immediately after taking over in 2006, losing to St. Louis in five games. The Tigers went to the World Series again in 2012 but were swept by San Francisco. Leyland worked under one-year contracts the last couple of years, saying he was content to wait until after the season to address his status. He was reflective late this season, mentioning to reporters that he had already managed the Tigers longer than he had expected they would keep him, but he also said in September that he still loved the atmosphere, the competition and his team. In fact, hed actually told general manager Dave Dombrowski in early September that he didnt want to return as manager. He expects to remain with the organization in some capacity after going 700-597 as Tigers manager. "Im not totally retiring today, Im just not going to be in the dugout anymore," Leyland said. "I hope and pray that you give the next manager the same respect and the same chance that you gave me." Leyland says his health is fine, but its time to stop managing. He said he started weighing his decision around June. "I started thinking this was getting a little rough. I thought that the fuel was getting a little low," Leyland said. "I knew that Id get through it because I knew wed be playing for something." The Tigers figure to contend again next year, which may lead Dombrowski to look for a proven commodity who can come in and manage. Kirk Gibson, who led Detroit to the 1984 World Series title as a player, is now managing in Arizona, but Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall tried to quash any speculation that Gibson would return to the Tigers. "We would not grant permission (to the Tigers to talk to Gibson) if asked because we want him here, and he told me this morning he has no interest in leaving," Hall said. Detroits players found out about Leylands departure after Saturday nights game in Boston, where the Red Sox won Game 6 to take the series. "Youve got your head down, you lost and the seasons over, and then Jim dropped that bomb on us," outfielder Torii Hunter said. "I just had a feeling that it could have been his last year. All year, he was kind of emotional, and I just felt it." Leyland said there was no announcement Saturday because he wanted the focus to be on the victorious Red Sox. However, he was honest about how much this defeat hurt. "With all due respect to the Boston Red Sox -- who earned it, they won it, they deserve to be where they are -- I truly believe the Detroit Tigers should be playing here tomorrow," Leyland said. "This is one thats going to stick with me, this is one that really hurts, because I really felt like we let it get away." When Leyland arrived at the Tigers spring training camp this year, it marked 50 seasons since he first showed up there as an 18-year-old prospect. His playing career never amounted to much, but his accomplishments as a manager over more than two decades have been impressive. He is 1,769-1,728 overall during stints with the Tigers, Pirates, Marlins and Rockies. "I had sent him a text yesterday morning, just to congratulate he and the organization," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Not only on a great team and a great year, and express the respect we have for him and certainly personally have for him throughout his career. To see the announcement today, and listen to him and know that early September this was clearly in his mind, that surprised me." When Leyland took over the Tigers, they had gone 12 years without a winning season. During his tenure, they finished under .500 only once. Detroit has become one of baseballs glamour teams of late, with stars like Cabrera, Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer helping the team win games and draw fans. Cabrera won the Triple Crown and MVP award last year. Verlander won the MVP and Cy Young Award the previous season. "Its been as much fun for me to manage Ramon Santiago as it has Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander," Leyland said. "Now in saying that, it was also an honour to manage the Triple Crown winner, an MVP, a Cy Young winner." The Tigers should be able to keep their core of players mostly together for next season, but now theyll need to find a new manager to replace Leyland, who always earned high marks for his ability to keep his veterans focused. "He really cares deeply about his players," utility man Don Kelly said. "When you go out there, the way he treats you, you want to run through a wall for him, go out there and get a win. Thats the way he treated me. He treated everybody like that." DJoun Smith Colts Jersey .C. Lions has come to an end. VANCOUVER -- The B. Asics Gel Saga Prezzo .C. Lions are looking for more bang from their Buck on Friday as they host the Calgary Stampeders in the final game of the CFL regular season for both teams. Fresh off a strong relief appearance in a win over Edmonton last week, Buck Pierce will start at quarterback for the Lions as they prepare for the playoffs. It will be Pierces first start since July 19 while he was with a Winnipeg club that discarded him in a September trade to the Lions. "Each opportunity that you get, youre excited about, especially after the year that I had this year," said Pierce after a walk-through Thursday at B.C. Place Stadium. " Its not easy. You leave a situation that was tough mentally, and then youre put into a situation that gives you another opportunity to play and prove your worth and just have fun." The Lions (10-7) will use the game as preparation for a playoff road game, knowing that they are already set to finish third, and a possible re-match with the first-place Stampeders (14-3) in the Western Final. "I think we took a big step last week and did some good things," said Pierce. "Were looking to build off that." The Lions must hope that Pierces banged-up body holds up as he continues his second stint with B.C. in an injury-plagued career. He is getting the start because No. 1 signal-caller Travis Lulay is recuperating from a shoulder injury and replacement Thomas DeMarco has been ineffective recently. Some people might think its redemption time for Pierce, who threw for three touchdowns, ran for one and made a key block as Stefan Logan rushed for another against Edmonton. But Pierce, who has completed 17 of 27 passes for three touchdowns in four games with B.C. after being relegated to third-string status with Winnipeg, takes a different view. "Im not looking for any kind of redemption at all," said Pierce, a nine-year CFL veteran. "Ive never played that way. A lot of people have tried to spin it that way, like its me against the critics and all that kind of stuff. But thats never been what its been about for me. "For me, its about making the most of my opportunities and just go out there and play football and do what I love to do." Despite Pierces comments, he and the Lions, losers of three of their past four games and inconsistent for much of the season, have more than their fair share of critics. And, B.C.s quarterbacking situation for the post-season is far from certain. "If I was honest with you right now, were just going to see where it goes," said Lions coach Mike Benevides. But Pierce has the starters job until Benevides decides otherwise. "I need to continue to play Buck," said Benevides, adding he will play as long as necessary against Calgary. Lulay, who has missed six games after getting hurt while scoring a touchdown against Montreal on Sept. 15, is listed as the backup and will see some action if things are going as well as Benevides likes. "Im going to be suited up, Im going to be ready to play and when that happens, Im not definitively sure," said Lulay. He said its important to get game action in preparation for the playoffs, because it would be difficult to have to play in the post-season without any since his injury. But, like Pierce, he does not plan to reduce his injury risk by shying away from contact. "I think youre always being smart about how those things happen," said Lulay. "But when youre out on the field and youre doing whatever youre doing whatever it takes for your team, its part of playing the game." Meanwhile, the Stampeders are scheduled to use all three of their quarterbacks after general manager and coach John Hufnagel pledged to do so earlier in the week. Kevin Glenn is slated to start while Drew Tate and Bo Levi Mitchell are slated for relief duty. Glenn expects all three signal-callers to receive an equal number of plays. The Stampeders will also have a new look on their offensive line as veterans JMichael Deane and Stanley Bryant are sidelined with injuries that are not expected to keep them out of the playoffs. Hufnagel is also expected to give other players, notably running back Jon Cornish, less playing time than usual. But Glenn said the game still holds considerable importance, even with Calgary holding a bye in the first round. "We still want to go into the playoffs with a winning streak," said Glenn. "Nobody wants to go into the playoffs with a losing streak." The game is also important for him personally after he completed only 11 of 17 passes for 120 yards before being pulled in last Saturdays 29-25 win over Saskatchewan. But he is determined not to dwell on the sub-par effort, which he noted was rare. "The thing is, to have a short memory for your body," he said. "You move on." The Stampeders have a 2-1 record against B.C. this season. Glenn and Cornish said its important for the Stamps to post another win in order to have momentum going into the playoffs. Cornish leads the CFL in yards from scrimmage (2,143) and rushing (1,799). But noting that he has not achieved any of his personal goals this season, he is not looking to pad his statistics. "If (the coaches) want to pull me early, Im cool with that," he said. "If they dont, thats cool, too." The game will be the last for the Lions at home this season. They hope to put in a strong showing for their fans and use the contest as a chance to set the stage for a strong first-round playoff game in Saskatchewan and a possible rematch with the Stampeders in the Western Final after losing to them last year on the same B.C. Place field. "We want to try and send a message," said Lions linebacker Adam Bighill. "If we see them again in the West Final, we want them to remember that we smacked them around here first." Sporting midfielder Uri Rosell will miss next weekends match in Columbus on his second yellow-card accumulation suspension of the year. Rosell was cautioned in the 33rd minute for a foul on Farfan. SOUTH BEND, Ind. Zdeno Chara Jersey . -- Notre Dame running back Cierre Wood announced Monday he is entering the NFL draft, deciding against returning for a final year of eligibility. The 6-0, 215-pound senior, who did not play as a freshman, was second on the team this past season with 742 yards rushing on 114 carries, including 2 yards on four carries in a 42-14 loss to Alabama in the BCS title game. He sat out the first two games of the season after being suspended by coach Brian Kelly for violating team rules. He rushed for 2,447 yards on 450 carries in three seasons as the Irish, finishing seventh on Notre Dames all-time list. His 5.4 yards per carry is the most for any Irish back with that many carries. His best season was in 2011, when he led the Irish with 1,102 yards rushing on 217 carries. He rushed for a career-high 191 yards in a game against Purdue in 2011. Wood, who has a 1-year-old daughter, said it wasnt an easy decision. "I had to weigh many factors over the last month, but ultimately it came down to what I felt was the right decision that would most benefit my family," he said in a statement released by the school. Kelly wished Wood well. "Cierre has been an important member of our football team in my three years at Notre Dame and I appreciate all he did to help get our program back on top," he said. The Irish also lose leading rusher Theo Riddick, who arrived at Notre Dame in the same recruiting class as Wood. Although Wood came in as a much higher rated recruit, Riddick got on the field immediately as a freshman while Wood struggled to learn blocking schemes and with homesickness. The two, who are close friends and lived in the same house, said there was never any rivalry between them. The top returning rusher for the Irish is George Atkinson III, a speedy back who ran for 361 yards on 51 carries, an average of 7.1 yards a carry. The Irish will have Amir Carlisle, a transfer from Southern Cal who missed the 2012 season with a foot injury after missing much of his freshman season with the Trojans with injuries. The Irish also are expected to sign several high school backs on Feb. 6, including highly rated backs Greg Bryant from Delray Beach, Fla., and Tarean Folston from Cocoa, Fla. The announcement comes two days after Kelly said he would return to the Fighting Irish in 2013 after talking with the NFLs Philadelphia Eagles about their head coaching job. Johnny Bucyk Jersey . -- The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with safety Brock Vereen and QB David Fales on four-year contracts. Terry OReilly Bruins Jersey . LOUIS -- Billy Hamilton had three hits and his first two steals, and scored easily after tagging up on a shallow outfield pop fly to support a strong outing from Mike Leake in the Cincinnati Reds 4-0 victory over the St. LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Pete Rose sounded bowled over. Charlie Hustle, who famously flattened Ray Fosse to score the winning run in the 1970 All-Star game, couldnt believe Major League Baseball intends to eliminate home-plate collisions by 2015 at the latest. "What are they going to do next, you cant break up a double play?" Rose said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press after MLB announced its plan Wednesday. "Youre not allowed to pitch inside. The hitters wear more armour than the Humvees in Afghanistan. Now youre not allowed to try to be safe at home plate?" Rose said. "Whats the game coming to? Evidently the guys making all these rules never played the game of baseball." New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson, chairman of the rules committee, made the announcement at the winter meetings, saying the change would go into effect for next season if the players association approved. Safety and concern over concussions were major factors -- fans still cringe at the thought of the season-ending hit Buster Posey absorbed in 2011. "Ultimately what we want to do is change the culture of acceptance that these plays are ordinary and routine and an accepted part of the game," Alderson said. "The costs associated in terms of health and injury just no longer warrant the status quo." In a sport long bound by tradition, a ban will be a major step. MLB also is instituting a vast increase in the use of instant replay by umpires next season in an effort to eliminate blown calls. The NFL reached a settlement last summer in a concussion-related lawsuit by former players for $765 million, and a group of hockey players sued the NHL last month over brain trauma. Banned for life in 1989 following a gambling investigation, Rose insists Fosse was blocking the plate without the ball, which is against the rules. Fosse injured a shoulder, and his career went into a downslide. "Since 1869, baseball has been doing pretty well," Rose said. "The only rules they ever changed was the mound (height) and the DH. I thought baseball was doing pretty good. Maybe Im wrong about the attendance figures and the number of people going to ballgames." Alderson said wording of the rules change will be presented to owners for approval at their Jan. 16 meeting in Paradise Valley, Ariz. Details must be sorted out, such as what should happen if a catcher blocks the plate without the ball? "The exact language and how exactly the rule will be enforced is subject to final determination," he said. "Were going to do fairly extensive review of the types of plays that occur at home plate to determine which were going to find acceptable and which are going to be prohibited." Approval of the players union is needed for the rules change to be effective for 2014. "If the players association were to disapprove, then the implementation of the rule would be suspended for one year, but could be implemented unilaterally after that time," Alderson said. The union declined comment, pending a review of the proposed change. Some players spoke up on Twitter. "No more home plate collisions?! What is this? NFL quarterbacks are catchers now?" Oakland outfielder Josh Reddick wrote. "Nothing better than getting run over and showing the umpire the ball. Please dont ban home plate collisions," Pittsburgh rookie catcher Tony Sanchez posted. "Totally disagree," added retired catcher John Flaherty, now an analyst with the Yankees YES Network. Bobby Orr Bruins Jersey. . Discussion to limit or ban collisions has intensified since May 2011, when Posey was injured as the Marlins Scott Cousins crashed the plate. Posey, San Franciscos All-Star catcher, sustained a broken bone in his lower left leg and three torn ligaments in his ankle, an injury that ended his season. Posey returned to win the NL batting title and MVP award in 2012, when he led the Giants to their second World Series title in three seasons. In Game 5 of this years AL championship series, Detroit catcher Alex Avila was pulled a couple innings after being run over at the plate by Bostons David Ross, a fellow catcher sidelined for much of the season by concussions resulting from foul tips. "This is, I think, in response to a few issues that have arisen," Alderson said. "One is just the general occurrence of injuries from these incidents at home plate that affect players, both runners and catchers. And also kind of the general concern about concussions that exists not only in baseball but throughout professional sports and amateur sports today. Its an emerging issue, and one that we in baseball have to address, as well as other sports." Former catchers Joe Girardi, Bruce Bochy and Mike Matheny -- all now managing in the majors -- attended Wednesdays meeting. "I dont think its completely sparked by anything thats happened in baseball as much as whats happening outside of baseball and how its impacting people and impacting the welfare of each sport," said Matheny, now managing the St. Louis Cardinals. But not everyone is in favour of a change. "I lost time as a catcher being run over a couple different times, but I thought it was part of my job and I enjoyed the contact," said Girardi, the New York Yankees manager. "Now Im not so sure that everyone enjoys contact. But I love football, so I liked it." MLB intends to have varied tiers of punishment. "I think there will be two levels of enforcement," Alderson said. "One will be with respect to whether the runner is declared safe or out based on conduct. So, for example, intentionally running over the catcher might result in an out call. So I think that the enforcement will be on the field as well as subsequent consequences in the form of fines and suspensions and the like." Drafting the rule figures to be complicated. "Does it include at every base or just home plate?" Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said. "Whats considered blocking the plate and how do you define all of it?" The NCAA instituted a rule on collisions for the 2011 season, saying "contact above the waist that was initiated by the base runner shall not be judged as an attempt to reach the base or plate." The umpire can call the runner out and also eject the player if contact is determined to be malicious or flagrant. The rule is likely to have an effect on youth leagues, too, where player safety is a primary concern. Little League runners must either slide or try to get around fielders. Plate collisions often are prohibited in high-school ball. "The actual detail, frankly the kinds of plays that were trying to eliminate, we havent finely determined," Alderson said. "I would expect to put together 100 of these plays and identify which ones we want to continue to allow and others that we want to prohibit, and draft a rule accordingly." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Auston Matthews Jersey ' ' '

BARCELONA, Spain -- Athletic Bilbao can count on home soil advantage as it looks to mount a comeback against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday and ensure an all-Spanish Europa League final against either Atletico Madrid or Valencia. John Carlson Capitals Jersey Authentic . Athletic failed to win away in the first leg for the first time in the knockout round, but still carries an important away goal from last weeks 2-1 first-leg semifinal loss against the Portuguese club. Atletico travels to Valencia holding a 4-2 advantage as the 2010 champion looks to reach its second final in three seasons at Mestalla Stadium. The winners will meet at Bucharests National Arena for the May 9 final. Athletic, which eliminated Manchester United and Schalke on route to the semifinals, is looking to reach its first European final in 35 years after the Basque club lost the 1977 UEFA Cup to Juventus. Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa has centerback Javi Martinez back from suspension while forward Iker Muniain should be ready for the game after missing Sundays 1-0 Spanish league win over Racing Santander with an eye inflammation. Athletic goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz said the club had to be prepared for all possibilities, including penalties. "Sporting has shown it can score goals away from home, but we can also conjure up different qualities," said Iraizoz, who played for Espanyol in 2007s all-Spanish final with Sevilla. "We have to be well focused and very strong for the game, so that things turn out in our favour." Sporting, which eliminated Manchester City in the quarterfinals, expects to field former Villarreal player Mattias Fernandez after the Chile midfielder missed two games to injury. Midfielder Fabian Rinaudo and defender Alberto Rodriguez, however, are both sidelined by injury. Sporting, which has never won in Spain against an opponent that has never lost to Portuguese opposition at San Mames Stadium, is unbeaten in seven overall, with six wins. The Lisbon club last reached the final in 2005, losing to CSKA Moscow. Valencias stoppage-time goal in the first leg has given the 2004 UEFA Cup champions hope going into the return, although the Mediterranean club will have to keep Radamel Falcao from adding to his already impressive Europa League goal tally. Atleticos Colombia striker has 27 goals in 27 Europa League games for a strike rate that is only surpassed by Jupp Heynckes -- now coach of Bayern Munich -- and which is third all-time on the UEFA Cup-Europa League scoring list. Valencia has never lost a European home match against a La Liga rival, while Atletico has yet to win a UEFA match on the road in Spain, although it carries a 10-game winning streak in the competition into the game. "Itll be important to score an away goal," Atletico striker Adrian Lopez said. "That will pretty much sentence the series." Marcus Johansson Capitals Jersey . Sending the soaring Washington Capitals to their first loss of the season will certainly help their cause. Jordan Eberle had a goal and an assist and Nikolai Khabibulin made 34 saves, and the Oilers hung on for dear life to edge the Capitals 2-1 Thursday. Andre Burakovsky Capitals Jersey .ca presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season. The spongy instruments add another level of scientific difficulty, which in turn makes for much more insane celebrations when things go right. MONTREAL -- Coach Andrew Olivieri says Canada may discover a new Christine Sinclair when it plays host to the FIFA womens under-20 World Cup this summer.Mike Palmateer Jersey . Olivieri, at city hall to help kick off ticket sales for the Aug. 5-24 event to be held in four Canadian cities, said Wednesday that Canada has a new generation of talent on the rise that can make its name just as Sinclair did at the same event in 2002 in Edmonton. "Kadeisha Buchanan plays a different role at centre back, so she probably doesnt get the exposure of a forward who scores a lot of goals," said Olivieri, in his second year as coach of the national womens U20 side. "And (fullback) Sura Yekka is only 16. "The last player who played on the senior team at 16 was Christine. So those could be your next Sinclairs." The 2002 tournament was for under-19 players when Sinclair led Canada to a silver medal. The Canadians drew 47,784 spectators -- still a tournament record -- to Commonwealth Stadium for the final. "It was a really unbelievable event," said Carmelina Moscato, a national team defender who was part of Canadas thrilling run through the 2002 tournament. "It was something that obviously changed our lives, and probably one of the reasons I came back to play was I never really played in an adult championship, that was my only experience to draw on and I wanted to experience something of the sort again. That was a big motivating factor for me." The 2014 event will have 16 teams playing the opening round in four groups in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Moncton, N.B. Canada will play its first two games in Toronto and finish off group play at Olympic Stadium in Montreal, which will also play host to the final and bronze medal games. "Its just such a good opportunity, especially being able to play games in Toronto," said Yekka, who made her debut with Canadas senior side in a 3-0 win over South Korea on Oct. 30. "Its going to be really exciting, since Im from the GTA, all my friends and family from Tornoto can come support." The draw will be held March 1 in Montreal. Canadian womens soccer is still on a high from its bronze-medal performance at the 2012 Olympics in London, when the senior national team gained national attention in a controversial semifinal loss to the United States before defeating France to finish third. The pressure is on for another medal performance from the under-20s on home turf. "The game has grown in our country, but its also grown around the world quite rapidly," said Olivieri, a former Montreal Impact goalkeeper. "The competition is fierce. "In 2002, the public awareness of the womens game was still fresh and new. It was enlightening to see how well those girls did. There are greater expectations now, especially after the success of the senior team. This should be a wonderful event." It is the first of back-to-back major FIFA events for Canada, which will host the 24-country Womens World Cup in 2015 in Montreal, Moncton, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Toronto could not take part because it is hosting the 2015 Pan Am Games. The Canadian Soccer Association is also considering making a bid for the big one -- the mens World Cup -- in 2026. Organizers feel that getting strong fan support and running glitch-free womens events could help convince FIFA that Canada is ready to put on a World Cup. The bid got enthusiastic support from new Montreal mayor Denis Coderre, the former federal Liberal cabinet minister. He encouraged the CSA to push hard for the 2026 tournament. "We have more soccer players than hockey players in Canada," said Coderre. "But we have to show we can receive (a tournament) and that we have the greatest fans, so that we can show FIFA and the world that its about time Canada received the World Cup, eventually. "We have all the ingredients. We have a perfect storm here to make it happen." Venue pack tickets, which give buyers seats at all games played at each stadium, went on sale through the FIFA.com/Canada2014 website. Packs range from $40 to $90 for all games in Edmonton (seven games including a quarter-final); $50 to $125 in Moncton (eight games including a quarter-final and a semifinal); and $50 to $120 in Toronto (seven games including a quarter-final). There are two packs available for Montreal -- a range of $50 to $125 for eight games but not the final and bronze medal games, and $65 to $165 for 10 games including the final and third-place games. Lanny McDonald Maple Leafs Jersey . James Neal and Brandon Sutter each had a goal and an assist, and the Penguins won for the first time in four games, 4-1 over the Nashville Predators on Friday night. James Van Riemsdyk Jersey . Dallas running back DeMarco Murray caught a 20-yard touchdown pass with 41 seconds left and Carolina running back Mike Tolbert plunged into the end zone for a 2-point conversion to give Rice a 22-21 win over Sanders in the first schoolyard-style Pro Bowl on Sunday.Jermain Defoes former manager is reportedly very interested in getting his striker back. According to a report in The Guardian, Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp - who managed Defoe with both Portsmouth and Tottenham - is interested in bringing the 32-year-old back to London. Though no deal is in place between QPR and Toronto FC, Redknapp went on record to state that he would welcome Defoe back to the Premier League. “He’s a player we’d be interested in in January, but it depends on the expense of the deal,” Redknapp told The Guardian. “Nothing is anywhere near being concluded. We tried to get him before the deadline but I don’t think there’s been any movement on that one. Defoe signed a four-year deal with TFC prior to the 2014 Major League Soccer season, but was rumoured to be unhappy in Toronto mid-way thhrough his first season. Darcy Tucker Jersey. In 19 games with the club in 2014, Defoe scored 11 goals. He would help lead Toronto FC to a strong start, with a 6-1-4 (19 points) record in the clubs first 11 contests. However, injuries would keep Defoe off the pitch for much of the second half of the season, with rumours of his return to the Premier League resurfacing near the end of the Fall transfer window. He appeared in just six contests after July 16, failing to score a single goal for the remainder of the season after 11 in 13 matches. “I’m a big fan of Jermain’s – I’ve signed him enough times, Redknapp said. He’s a goalscorer and a player you’d obviously like at your club if possible, but the figures would have to be right. I haven’t spoken to the chairman about it yet. We’ll see. I know what we need.” Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Auston Matthews Jersey ' ' '

OBERHOFEN, Switzerland -- The International Ski Federation says womens World Cup races scheduled for Jan. Blank Wales Jersey . 21-22 in Maribor, Slovenia, have been moved because of warm temperatures and too little snow. FIS says the giant slalom and slalom races will be staged at another Slovenian venue, Kranjska Gora, on the same dates. Maribor was unable to stage the races one year ago after temperatures rose to 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit). A giant slalom was abandoned after 25 racers completed the slushy course, and the following days slalom was cancelled. The women last raced in Kranjska Gora in 2007, though it is a regular stop on the mens circuit. Joe Ledley Jersey . Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring in the 12th and Robert Lewandowski scored his 100th goal for Dortmund to secure the victory in the 43rd. Gareth Bale Jersey . -- Nick Bjugstad snapped out of his scoring slump and spoiled Drew MacIntyres first NHL start.DALY CITY, Calif. -- Karine Icher and her caddie husband, Fred, evaluated the conditions and course at challenging Lake Merced and decided on a Day 1 strategy: stay short of the pin and putt uphill. The move worked beautifully, and Icher delivered the most consistent performance on a day there werent many in the debut of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. "I think its the key on this course," Icher said. "Its a tough golf course, especially with the wind and temperature. It gets so cold. You try to stay warm and try to catch the right wind and go with it and make some putts." The Frenchwoman birdied four of her first seven holes and finished with a 6-under 66 on Thursday to take the lead, two strokes ahead of Lydia Ko and several others. Afterward, Icher was off to pick up 2-year-old daughter, Lola, from the tours childrens care and head to dinner. The start was delayed two hours because of fog and play was suspended because of darkness with 24 players still on the course. Icher had a bogey-free round and hit all but one green in regulation. Many struggled off the tee or with their putters on speedy, tricky greens on a cool day with plenty of wind and hovering fog not far off the Pacific Ocean. The gallery sang "Happy Birthday" to Ko on her 17th birthday as she started from the first tee, and Ko came through with a 68 on a day she was also named among TIME magazines 100 most influential people. Kos group barely beat the horn for darkness. "I wanted to finish today," she said, acknowledging the birthday song was "kind of embarrassing" but much-appreciated. Morgan Pressel birdied four of her first eight holes and was among the players sitting three strokes back at 69. Mo Martin also shot a 69 after warming up four times before finally hitting her first tee shot following the fog delay. Pressel, whose round began on the back nine, went to 4 under at the turn. Top-ranked Inbee Park opened with a 73 in the $1.8 million event, while second-ranked Suzann Pettersen had a 70 in her first tournament since missing three events with a back injury. On the par-4 11th, a frustrated Pettersen made an 8-foot putt for triple-bogey to fall from 3 under to even par before bouncing back. Ashley Williams Wales Jersey. Michelle Wie, coming off her first win in nearly four years last week in her home state of Hawaii, finished at even-par 72. Those who were still on the course will play resume their rounds Friday morning, so many will have a quick turnaround after a short break. Tee times remained the same. Pressel also had a sizzling first round in Phoenix last month, going 9 under through her first 11 holes in the JTBC Founders Cup and chasing a 59. But Pressel bogeyed two straight holes and wound up with a 7-under 65. On Thursday, she recovered for par on holes 16 and 18 after both tee shots missed the fairway. On the forgiving par-5, 532-yard 18th, Pressels drive ricocheted off a tree and landed in a more favourable lie to the right of the fairway. She nearly put her third shot onto the green but the ball kicked back a couple of feet shy. "It was actually a bit of a struggle out there. My short game kept me in it. I stayed patient," Pressel said. "I stayed tough. Its a tough golf course. I knew nobody was going to go out there and blitz it." Martin played through more fog, and even wondered whether there might be a second delay. The LPGA is back in the Bay Area for the first time since 2010, and San Francisco provided exactly the kind of day that so perfectly represents this region and its unpredictable weather patterns. Martin sported an "L" charm necklace in memory of her grandfather, Lincoln Martin, who died last month at age 102. One of her biggest supporters since they reconnected 10 years ago, he last travelled to a tournament in Rochester, N.Y., last year. He ate vanilla ice cream on his chocolate crisped rice cereal -- with half and half to boot -- for breakfast every morning. He also had several U.S. patents. "It would be really hard to do him justice in a couple sentences, but greatest person Ive ever met," she said. "Changed my life when I got to know him in the last 10 years. Most peaceful person Ive ever met. ... Everybody out here loved him. He followed womens golf and was a fan of everyone." Angela Stanford and Se Ri Pak withdrew Thursday, and neither provided a reason to tournament officials. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Auston Matthews Jersey' ' '
