The tumbleVirat Kohli had just come in, and was batting on 5 off 7 balls when he went on the back foot to work Ish Sodhi to the right of midwicket. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale . As he usually does, he ran the first run at full tilt, calling for two almost as soon as he played the shot. While beginning to turn as he touched down at the bowlers end, he slipped and ended up sprawled in a heap. Slow-motion replays showed his right foot had lost its grip while landing on a grassy patch by the side of the pitch, and revealed his shoe lacked spikes in the heel area.Southees slower-ball varietyIn the 47th over of Indias innings, Tim Southee bowled a short ball to Kedar Jadhav, angling into the body. Failing to spot that Southee had rolled his fingers over like an offcutter, Jadhav swivelled too early, and missed. Next ball, Southee sent short again, this time wide of off stump. With backward point and third man inside the circle, Jadhavs eyes may have lit up, but he quickly realised this was another slower ball, bowled like a legbreak. There was barely any pace on it, and Jadhav, looking to manufacture all the power he could to uppercut over the infielders, failed to make contact for the second time in two balls.Umesh knocks Guptill over, againBefore this match, Umesh Yadav had twice dismissed Martin Guptill with the new ball in this series. The first time, in Delhi, he had bowled him for a duck with an outswinger that straightened past his outside edge to knock back off stump. Now, in the first over of New Zealands innings, with Guptill again on 0, Umesh produced another jaffa. This time it pitched on middle stump, on a length that froze Guptills feet. Then it swung away late, past the outside edge and hit the top of off stump after a little deflection off the back pad.The flying substituteMandeep Singh was the only member of Indias squad to not get a game this series. He got a chance to field in the fifth ODI, thanks to Rohit Sharmas pulled quadriceps, and got a chance to show off his prowess at cover point in the second over of the chase. Kane Williamson punched Jasprit Bumrah powerfully off the back foot, and the ball seemed destined for the boundary when Mandeep appeared in its path, throwing himself to his left and stopping it while horizontal, a foot or so off the ground. Next ball, Bumrah bowled closer to Williamsons off stump, and Mandeep showed excellent anticipation to move quickly to his right and stop another firm punch without needing to dive. The googlyAmit Mishra has looked at the peak of his powers during this series, confounding New Zealand with a number of Test-match deliveries. In Mohali, he had dangled legbreaks that dipped and robbed Ross Taylor and Luke Ronchi of their balance which led to their stumping. He did the same in Visakhapatnam too, to Tim Southee, giving MS Dhoni a chance to demonstrate his skills again. But perhaps the most satisfying of his five wickets was that of BJ Watling. It was a proper, old-fashioned legspinners dismissal, a flighted googly that the batsman simply failed to spot from the hand. Watling came forward to defend and left just enough of a gap between his bat and pad for the ball to snake through and bowl him. Cheap Jerseys From China . Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca! Hey Kerry, would love to hear your explanation that distinguishes Andrew Shaws goalie interference in Game 3 (not enough to warrant a penalty, just enough to erase the goal?) from the entire body of work of Tomas Holmstroms career scoring goals in the blue paint.  Not to mention the nudge Shaw gets from the Detroit defenceman and he still doesnt even contact Howard!?!  That was a real momentum swinger in the game. How do you see it? Campbell Mayer Kerry, Was the disallowed Blackhawks goal that would have tied the game the right call or do you see it more as a makeup call for blowing a possible boarding call on the Patrick Kane goal? Thanks man. Keep it up! Ryan Morrill Campbell and Ryan: The Referees decision to disallow Andrew Shaws goal could be supported under the "letter of the law/rule"! As I looked at this play (video link), the only contact between Jimmy Howard and Shaw was initiated by the Wings goalkeeper when he chopped at Shaws skates a couple of times once the Hawk ventured into the top of the blue paint and in advance of the shot on goal. It is also true that there was minor contact between Shaw and the Detroit defenceman as the two players entered the goal crease. It might be worth noting that the Detroit defenceman sealed off any backdoor exit potential for Shaw if the Hawk considered this as an option; which is likely a reach for us to consider but none the less remotely plausible. Since no contact was initiated or resulted from Andrew Shaw on Jimmy Howard, the single thread under which goalie interference could be determined (again the letter of the rule) is found in 69.3—If an attacking player establishes a significant position within the goal crease, so as to obstruct the goalkeepers vision and impairs his ability to defend his goal, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed. For this purpose, a player "establishes a significant position within the crease" when, in the Referees judgment, his body, or a substantial portion thereof, is with the goal crease for more than an instantaneous period of time.  I dont really believe that Jimmy Howards vision was obstructed but it could be said that Andrew Shaw did establish a significant position within the crease. SSince you mentioned Tomas Holmstrom, once he was flagged and put on the Refs radar screen, I have seen more than one goal disallowed when Tomas had his skates clearly outside the blue paint but established a significant portion of his rear end inside the crease and stuck in the face of the goalkeeper! Those calls surprised me at the time they were made. Cheap NFL Jerseys. I felt they were an overreaction to the spirit and intent of the interference on the goalkeeper rule. I was likewise surprised by the decision last night to disallow Andrew Shaws goal last night when Jimmy Howard made the initial save and the rebound deflected off Shaw and into the net. I wont speculate as to whether the Referee was still thinking about a potential boarding call against Niklas Hjalmarsson nor whether the whistle could possibly have been blown prior to Patrick Kanes goal as Johan Franzen lay on the ice in a heap in the Chicago end zone until well after Kanes goal. Those potential questions could only be answered in the private thought process of the Referee. What I will offer is that when Niklas Hjalmarsson struck Johan Franzen directly on the numbers of his back from close proximity to the end boards, a boarding infraction occurred. Since Franzen was able to put his hands up as protection against a full face-plant into the boards only a minor penalty for boarding was deserved. This series is certainly turning nasty. Several battles in front of and behind the net resulted in hard slashes, cross-checks and punches to the head between combatants. Sometimes unsportsmanlike conduct penalties even resulted. Holding on the other hand was always called whenever a player used his free-hand to gain an advantage or momentarily detain his opponent! I cite the last game played in the San Jose—Los Angeles series as one that was very well officiated. The game had great intensity throughout with hard hits being allowed throughout and a consistent standard of enforcement was adopted. The players were allowed to play on the edge throughout the entire game but when infractions occurred there was no reluctance to call them. The two penalties called in the dying minutes of regulation with the score tied were "must call" infractions that were not avoid by the Referee. That standard, my friends, is the model that I hope all the Refs will follow throughout the balance of these playoffs.     Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Jenson Button thinks Formula One should consider hosting shorter races in order to appeal to a younger generation of fans.F1 races take well over an hour to complete, with a maximum time limit of two hours in the regulations. Button, the longest-serving driver on the current grid, thinks F1 should be open to making radical changes if it means staying relevant to a new audience. There will always be the diehard fans that have watched Formula One for 10, 20 years and will watch a whole grand prix, but thats not who were after, Button said. Its the younger fans we need to appeal to, to try and attract them to something for an hour and a half is very difficult.People have a short attention span. Were like kids, we cant sit down and do one thing for so long - we have to move on and do something else. I cant sit in front of the TV for an hour and a half and watch a film, I have to be active. Its a tough one because Formula One is Formula One, and changing that is a shame because thats the way it has always been. But we need to move with thhe times if we want the sport to be relevant. Toby Alderweireld Jersey. Button believes a shorter format would be successful because it has been successfully implemented in other sportsWhen I watch Formula One, I see a race thats exciting. Other people might look at it and say well there are a few overtaking moves, but in an hour and a half there is 10 minutes of action!Thats why I find it exciting, because when those moves happen its amazing that driver has put everything on the line. But 10 minutes of action in an hour and a half is not enough for most people, and I can understand that.Short races, short sports are on the up. For example, people love sprint track and field because its a short burst of energy. Ive never watched a Tour de France stage, but Ive recorded a Tour de France stage and watched the last 10 minutes.F1 needs to attract a younger audience, but how you go about doing that is a lot more difficult. The six crew chiefs who guide the remaining Chase for the Sprint Cup drivers competing for spots in the championship round will have it a little easy Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway. They will have it easy in the sense they wont have to worry about performing any mid-race calculations on points. They will know what they have to do simply by looking at the track: Its all about whether their drivers are in front or behind their Chase counterparts. With two spots available and four of the drivers within two points of each other, only a win can guarantee any of them a spot to join Jimmie Johnson (Martinsville winner) and Carl Edwards (Texas winner) among the four championship finalists wholl race for the Cup title the following Sunday at Homestead.Joey Logano and Kyle Busch currently are tied for those two spots, while Matt Kenseth is a point behind and Denny Hamlin is two points back. Kevin Harvick sits 18 behind and Kurt Busch is 34 back. A win automatically will earn any of these drivers a bid to the championship round, with the remaining spot (or two if none of them win) being awarded based on points. Its going to be entertaining, said Logano, who could clinch a spot if he finishes second and leads a lap. Its going to be probably the closest Phoenix race weve ever seen as far as points. Its going to be a fun one for sure.Hamlin predicted Sunday night that a second-place finish should get him to the next round. But theres no guarantee. If Harvick wins -- and Harvick has won six of the past eight Phoenix races -- and Logano or Kyle Busch finishes third, it could come down to whether any of the drivers leads a lap (one bonus point) or the most laps (another bonus point). At least the crew chiefs and drivers should know the scenarios as they race late in the event. ST. Aaron Ramsey Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Max Scherzer is getting as good at deflecting attention from his accomplishments as he is at shutting down opposing hitters. The Detroit right-hander became the first pitcher to win 12 consecutive decisions to begin a season in 27 years on Friday night, riding a pair of home runs by Miguel Cabrera and a mammoth shot by Prince Fielder to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-3 and take over the major league lead in victories. "Its really nice to be 12-0," said Scherzer, who allowed three runs, four hits, walked one and struck out nine in seven innings to become the first pitcher in Tigers history to win his first 12 decisions. "Im pitching well, but the reason Im 12-0 is because of my offence," he added. "You got to see firsthand today the best player in the game hitting two home runs on three pitches and going 4 for 4. And Prince hits a bomb. Its the offence that set me up." Scherzer became the first in the majors to begin a season with at least 12 straight victories since Roger Clemens did it on the way to starting 14-0 with the Boston Red Sox in 1986. Hes 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA and 18 strikeouts in two wins over Tampa Bay this season. "Hes just good. Hes got a little of that whiffle ball look from the side, where the ball is jumping all over the place," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "Then he gets the velocity when he wants it. Theres a reason why hes 12-0. Hes very good." It helps to have Cabrera in the middle of the lineup. The 2012 AL MVP went 4 for 4 and drove in three runs, boosting his major league-leading batting average to .377 with 24 homers and 81 RBIs, also tops in the big leagues. He hit a two-run homer in the first inning off Alex Colome (1-1) to extend his hitting streak to a season-best 13 games, then added a solo shot off the rookie for a 3-0 lead in the fourth. Cabrera also singled in the sixth, giving him three of Detroits four hits off Colome. Fielder doubled in the fourth, tagged up and hustled to third base on Victor Martinezs fly ball to right and eventually scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-0 before the Rays gradually climbed back into the game. Ben Zobrist and Wil Myers hit solo homers for Tampa Bay. Luke Scotts RBI double trimmed Scherzers lead to 4-3 in the seventh. "All I thought about is winning today. My personal record is more a reflection of the team," Scherzer said. "I dont get caught up in the win-loss record because its kind of fluky. Yesterday Doug (Fister) goes seven innings, one run and gets a no-decision. I got six and (allow) three and get a win, so thats why its a fluky stat." Cabrera doubled off Kyle Farnsworth in the eighth for his fourth hit. Fielder gave the Detroit bullpen some breathing room when he followed with his first homer since June 4, a towering two-run shot off Cesar Ramos that struck one of the catwalks that support the roof at Tropicana Field. The Rays estimated Cabreras home runs travelled 388 and 432 feet. Fielders drive, which bounced off the catwalk and rolled back toward the infield, was estimated at 414 feet. Cabrera, who leads the majors in hits and RBIs and is second behind Baltimores Chris Davis in home runs, was asked how far Fielders homer might have gone if it hadnt hit something. "Miami," Cabrera said. "It was very far. It was impressive." Al Alburquerque and Drew Smyly worked a scoreless eighth for the Tigers. Joaquin Benoit finished a combined five-hitter, earning his fifth save. Scherzer, whos fanned at least six in each of his 16 starts this season, retired 11 in a row before Zobrists first-pitch drive to right with two outs in the fourth. The closest the Rays had come to getting a hit up until then was Evan Longorias second-inning grounder over the mound that Omar Infante ran down behind second base before making an off-balance throw to first for the out. Longoria was removed from the game following that inning. The Rays later announced he irritated plantar fasciitis in his right foot, which has bothered him for the past month. Maddon said Longoria, who has 17 homers and 47 RBIs, will not play Saturday and is doubtful for Sunday. "A little bit tender in the foot area. We have to wait for it to calm down (Saturday) to make a better evaluation," the Tampa Bay manager said. "Of course Im concerned, but I dont know the level yet until I get more information." Notes: Reigning AL Cy Young winner David Price will rejoin Tampa Bays rotation Tuesday night at Houston. The left-hander went on the disabled list for the first time in his career May 16 with a strained left triceps. Instead of dwelling on the negative, Oates focused on what was good about the clubs recent play. It worked.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Usually reserved on the mound, Aaron Crow let loose after striking out Miguel Cabrera to end the seventh with two runners on base. Jeremy Guthrie pitched impressively into the seventh inning, Salvador Perez hit a two-run triple and the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers 3-2 Monday night for their sixth straight victory. "Aarons facing the best hitter to walk on this planet," Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer said. "The way he came in and showed no fear, went right after him with the crowd standing up on every pitch. Thats a big moment right there. Crow is usually not a big fan of showing emotion right there, but he got fired up. It just fires up the whole team at that point." Guthrie (7-3) limited the Tigers to a two-run homer by Cabrera in 6 1-3 innings in helping the Royals to extend their longest winning streak since they won seven straight in September 2011. He gave up six hits and walked three. Crow replaced Guthrie after he gave up a single to Avisail Garcia and he hit Andy Dirks with an 0-2 pitch. Crow retired Torii Hunter on a fly to shallow right and struck out Cabrera swinging to end the threat. "The slider was probably the best pitch Ive thrown all year," Crow said of the pitch he used to strike out Cabrera. "I havent thrown that many good ones. Thats what were paid to do. Its a situation you dont want to be in." The Tigers managed just one two-out single off four Kansas City relievers after Guthrie exited with Crow logging the biggest two outs. "The bullpen was huge for us," Guthrie said. "They won the game for us." Cabrera, who tops the American League with 90 hits and 69 RBIs, hit his 18th home run in the second after Hunter doubled. "I made a bad mistake and he didnt miss it," Guthrie said of hanging a breaking ball. Perezs one-out triple in the third by diving centre fielder Garcia scored Alcides Escobar and Hosmer after they each singled. Lorenzo Cains two-out infield single scored Perez with the go-ahead run. "Garcia gave aa good effort and missed," Hunter said. Aaron Ramsey Wales Jersey. "I chased it down. As an ex-centre fielder, I know, if you see me coming, you get out of the way. He probably should have let it go. He played it aggressively and thats all right. Hes 21. Hell learn. Hes 6-5, 250. Im getting out of his way." Doug Fister (5-4), who is 0-3 in five starts since a victory May 14 over Houston, went the distance. He allowed three runs on nine hits. "Theyre patient," Fister said. "When they needed to they produced what they needed. They put two runs on the board for me and I didnt make it stand up." Greg Holland worked a flawless ninth for his 13th save in 15 opportunities. "Just a phenomenal job of pitching on our part," Royals manager Ned Yost said. The Royals are 7-2 in June after losing 20 of 28 games in May. The pitching staff has a 1.44 ERA in June. The Royals improved to 8-3 since George Brett was named the interim hitting coach on May 30.
